Gina Gil-Lacuna, Holds the World's Largest Puzzle Collection

I am very fortunate to meet Ms. Gina Gil-Lacuna, the official title holder of the Guiness World Record for the World's Largest Puzzle Collection with 32,000 pieces and counting.

Awarded to her last November 29, 2012, the 61 year old Ms. Gina, who started her puzzle twenty seven (27) years ago never expected that her hobby would lead into something that we Filipinos can be also proud of.

Mrs. Gina, toured us where she houses the vast collection of puzzles.

Her very first puzzle was this MICKEY RACING TEAM with 5,000 pieces that she finished for his son, a mother's love she says. The fulfillment in finishing this puzzle made her want to solve more and more puzzles through the years.

The most difficult jigsaw puzzle for her was the GUERNICA, a Pablo Picasso painting with 2,000  pieces that she solved in 40 hours

The hardest for her was the LAS HILANDERAS or The Spinners painted by Diego de Silva Velasquez with 10,000 jigsaw puzzles done in 300 hours.

Here are some of the pieces that caught my attention:

If you want to see the entire collection and meet Ms. Gina Gil-Lacuna, visit her at Cuadra St. Brgy. Asisan, Tagaytay City. Entrance is Php 100.00/head.
