A Day with the Sharks and Sting Rays at Manila Ocean Park

I finally get to experience the newest attraction at Manila Ocean Park – The Sharks and Rays Encounter.

We were first went to the briefing area to know more about these sea creatures, to enlighten us on the misconception about them and the do’s and don’ts during the encounter.

Located at the Aquatic area, the crystal clear outdoor pool is divided into three zones filled with various species of friendly sharks, stingrays and starfishes. You can see Tawny Nurse Shark, Mangrove Whip ray, Black-blotched Ribbon Tail Ray, Jenkin’s Whip Ray, Leopard Whip ray and Cowtail Sting Ray
Before going to the pool, I experience first the DRY ENCOUNTER. Priced at Php 300.00 you get to touch these creatures that will heighten your appreciation to these inhabitants. This is basically good for school tours and large group bookings.

When I finally had the courage to be with them, SHARKS AND RAYS HALF BODY ENCOUNTER is the next step. Priced at Php 800.00, I had the chance to have a personal face to fin with sting rays. You need to be relaxed when interacting with them so that they will be at ease with you. Don’t worry as Marine life trainers are there to assist you.
You can also try the SHARKS AND RAYS FULL BODY ENCOUNTER priced at Php 1500.00 and get a chance to swim with them. I suggest you bring your own goggles so you can fully see these friendly sharks. Since I am wearing contacts, I only had the chance to see them once underwater. SHARKS AND RAYS AQUANAUT is also available priced at Php 1500.00 located at 2nd Level of Manila Ocean Park. This intense indoor underwater helmet diving escapade is sure to fulfill your dream of meeting marine animals and even sharks up close. A specialized helmet lets you breathe freely to enjoy these sea creatures.

Entrance rate is inclusive souvenir item, photo and certificate except for the Dry Encounter.

Bring the whole family and experience Manila Ocean’s Park newest and the most engaging animal interaction! For more details you may visit their website www.manilaoceanpark.com or you may call 567-7777.
