KathNiel in She’s Dating the Gangster

Teen King Daniel Padilla and Teen Queen Kathryn Bernardo is back in the big screen with this season’s biggest romantic film from Star Cinema – She’s Dating the Gangster.

She’s Dating the Gangster written by Bianca Bernardino possesses an outstanding online hit of over 600,000 readerships on Wattpad and sold over 70,000 copies in paperback. The story revolves around the intertwined lives of a set of young star-crossed lovers (Kenji and Athena) with a major unfinished business to settle and an unlikely couple (Kenneth and Kelay, both played by Kathryn and Daniel) who unexpectedly finds love in their individual quests to set things right for the people closest to their hearts.

During the press conference last night at the Dolphy Theatre (which was well attended), Daniel and Kathryn shared that they are very proud of this movie and you will see a different KathNiel as they portray the roles of Kenji, Athena, Kenneth and Kelay. The matured side of their love team will be seen in this movie as Direct Cathy wants to cater not only to the teens but everyone who wants to enter the movie house and see how this much awaited big screen adaptation of the best-selling Filipino Novel - She’s Dating the Gangster can offer.

Author Bianca Bernardino has not foreseen that her novel will be adapted in a movie as it is too much of a dream in the first place. But when it was offered, she knew in her mind that Daniel and Kathryn are the only ones who will give justice to Kenji and Athena as their aura in real life is the same with these characters. I haven’t read the book yet, watching the trailer, I agree with Bianca that no one can play these roles other than Daniel and Kathryn.

Director Cathy Garcia Molina shared that they added great elements of course with the approval of Bianca Bernardino without compromising its story line that made it a big hit to its readers.

She’s Dating Gangster also stars Khalil Ramos, Sofia Andres, Pamu Pamorada, Marco Gumabao, John Uy, Alex Diaz, Igi Boy Flores and Yana Asistio. The Iconic love team of Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta is also something to look forward to as they portray very special roles in this movie.
